The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) departed Haifa, Israel, July 1, 2018, after a scheduled port visit to enhance U.S.-Israeli relations as the two nations work together to strengthen regional security and stability.

The ship’s presence in the Mediterranean is a demonstration of our continued commitment to regional security.

“Haifa, Israel, has become a second home to USS Donald Cook,” said Cmdr. Kelley Jones, executive officer of Donald Cook. “Once again, the crew got to relax and enjoy the rich culture and great cuisine Haifa has to offer.  We look forward to our next return over these next couple of months.”

Strengthening partnerships during the port visit to Haifa demonstrates enduring relationships while seeking opportunities to enhance our interoperability.

U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
