The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77) arrived in Haifa, Israel, for a scheduled port visit July 1, 2017, to enhance U.S.-Israel relations as the two nations reaffirm their continued commitment to the collective security of the European and Middle East Regions.

Bush Carrier Strike Group Enters the U.S. 6th Fleet

NAPLES, Italy – The George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group (GHWBCSG) entered the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations Jan. 29, 2017 as part of a routine deployment in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe, our NATO allies, European and African partner nations, and our coalition partners.

Status of the Fleet: Nov. 14, 2014

Sailors, operating forward in the U.S. 6th Fleet, conduct daily operations, port visits and engage with allies and partners to maintain a forward presence throughout Europe and Africa and improve maritime security.
