The Royal Navy’s second Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carrier has been commissioning into the Fleet as the largest warship ever built for the nation. Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall, as the ship’s Lady Sponsor, alongside His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, presided over the ceremony at HM Naval Base Portsmouth, to an audience of 2,000 from industry, allies, friends and families.

EODMU 8 Hosts Disposal Training Course in Uganda

Dec. 5, 2019 - Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technicians assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 8 are in Magamaga, Uganda, from October 2019 to September 2020 to train members of the Uganda Peoples’ Defense Forces (UPDF) on proper munition disposal procedures and techniques.

NAVAL STATION ROTA, Spain (Dec. 5, 2019) Sailors assigned to the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60) man the rails as the ship departs Naval Station Rota, Spain following a scheduled port visit, Dec. 5, 2019. Normandy, homeported in Norfolk, is part of the East Coast Surface Action Group (SAG) and is operating in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility as part of a scheduled deployment and will conduct routine maritime security operations, improve interoperability and engagement with allies and partners, and demonstrate the combat power and flexibility of naval forces.
