Staff Command Master Chief

Command Master Chief Ben Hodges, a native of Nebraska, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August 1999. Following basic training, he completed Hospital Corpsmen School and Field Medical Service School. His academic achievements include Marine Corps Corporal’s Course, Sergeant’s Course, Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 165 Blue, and Command Master Chief (CMC)/Chief of the Boat (COB) Capstone course.
Hodges’ sea duty assignments included 3rd Medical Battalion; 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion; 1st Marine Division, surgeon’s office training staff; 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines; 1st Marine Division, G-1 staff; NATO Role 3 Multinational Medical Unit; Task Force Medical South; and USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75).
Ashore, Hodges has served at Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron (VMFAT) 101; Navy Personnel Command; and Field Medical Training Battalion-East.
His CMC/COB assignments include assignments aboard USS Devastator (MCM 6), USS New York (LPD 21) and Training Support Center Great Lakes, Illinois.
Hodges reported to his current assignment in June 2021 as Staff CMC, Naval Forces Europe/Naval Forces Africa/Sixth Fleet.
His personal qualifications and awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards); Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards); Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards); Army Achievement Medal; Combat Action Ribbon; and other personal, unit and service decorations.
