HAIFA, Israel - Vice Adm. Lisa Franchetti, Commander, U.S. 6th Fleet, receives a tour of the 13th century Alit Fortress from Vice Adm. David Salama, Vice Chief of Israeli Naval Forces, during a visit to Israel, June 18, 2019. Franchetti visited her Israeli Navy counterparts and U.S. Embassy leadership during a prescheduled trip to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa, Israel, to build on the strong military-to-military ties that exist between the two nations and further strengthen this key maritime partnership necessary for regional security.
