Black Sea - BLACK SEA (June 17, 2021) HMNLS Severtsen, HMS Defender, and USS Laboon take part in some close proximity sailing whilst on maritime operations in the Black Sea. On Thursday 17th June 2021, HMS Defender conducted close proximity sailing with allied warships HMNLS Evertsen and USS Laboon whilst operating in the Black Sea, east of the Mediterranean. The ships have been working closely with each other honing various communication skills and navigation exercises. The close proximity sailing often referred to as a SCREENEX is the culmination of the last few days of serials formulating into one final exercise. (LPhot Dan Rosenbaum, HMS Defender)
