Combined missile defense exercise Formidable Shield 2023 (FS 23) takes place in the North Atlantic off the coast of Scotland from May 8-26, 2023. Hosted by Commander US Navy 6th Fleet (C6F) and led by NATO (STRIKFORNATO – SFN). This training takes place within the framework of the Maritime Theater Missile Defense (MTMD1) forum.
Ten nations are taking part in the exercise. France is contributing to this by committing two first-class frigate this year: the air defense frigate (FDA) Chevalier Paul and the multi-mission frigate (FREMM) Bretagne. (French Navy courtesy photo)
