USS McFaul Departs Naval Station Rota Spain

By Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Will Hardy

The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS McFaul (DDG 74) departed Naval Station Rota, Spain, Feb. 8 after completing a scheduled port visit.

While in port, McFaul resupplied, refueled and welcomed additional crew before continuing with their deployment.

“We had a good, incident-free visit here in Rota" said Cmdr. Janet Days, commanding officer of the McFaul. "We also picked up a few new Sailors so the ship is fully-manned and ready for the rest of our deployment."

McFaul is currently supporting U.S. national security interests in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.

U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests, security and stability in Europe and Africa.
