By MC3 William Hardy

The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS McFaul (DDG-74) departed Limassol, Cypris Feb. 16, 2019, following a scheduled port visit.

While in port, the crew of McFaul was able to enjoy tours, culture, and historic Cyprus.

“The crew really enjoyed the tours that were offered and the numerous museums, shops, and restaurants in the area,” said Cmdr. Janet Days, commanding officer of the McFaul.

McFaul is on a routine deployment in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations supporting U.S. national security interests in Europe and increasing forward naval presence and theater cooperation.

U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
