NAPLES, Italy –
Three P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft and aircrew assigned to Patrol Squadron (VP) 10 began their participation in exercise Breeze 2024, July 11. The annual exercise, led by the Bulgarian Navy, is scheduled in the Black Sea, out of Varna, Bulgaria. Breeze 2024 will feature units from Albania, Belgium, Greece, Italy, Poland, Romania, Türkiye, United States and NATO’s Allied Maritime Command, focusing on improving operational and tactical interoperability, enhancing interagency cooperation and evaluating Bulgarian Navy units.
This is the 28th iteration of the annual exercise. The exercise will focus on anti-submarine warfare, search and rescue, force protection/anti-terrorism operations, maritime interdiction operations, and anti-piracy mission areas.
