THEOULE-SUR-MER, France - 190815-N-BM428-0242 THEOULE-SUR-MER, France (Aug. 15, 2019) Rear Adm. Matthew A. Zirkle, Chief of Staff, U.S. Naval Forces Europe/U.S. Naval Forces Africa/U.S. 6th Fleet, is greeted by Cmdr. Kelley T. Jones, the commanding officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile USS Donald Cook (DDG 75), on the ship before a reception in commemoration of Operation Dragoon, Aug. 15, 2019. The Navy Band performs during a ceremony in commemoration of Operation Dragoon in Theoule-sur-mer, France, Aug. 15, 2019. Donald Cook is in port to participate in the commemoration 75th Anniversary of Operation Dragoon, the operation which led to the liberation of Southern France by Allied Forces. Donald Cook, forward deployed to Rota, Spain, is on its ninth patrol in the U.S. 6th fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe and Africa.
