GENOA, Italy - (Aug 31, 2021) Vice Adm. Gene Black, commander, U.S. Sixth Fleet, presents Capt. David Pollard, commanding officer of the Blue Ridge-class command and control ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20), with an award during the ship’s change of command in San Giorgio Del Porto in Genoa, Italy, August, 31, 2021. Mount Whitney, the U.S. Sixth Fleet flagship, homeported in Gaeta, Italy entered its regularly scheduled overhaul to make improvements in order to increase the security and stability of the U.S. Sixth Fleet area of operations.
