Projecting Power in the Med: NATO Strike Groups Demonstrate Combined Capabilities

Three NATO Carrier Strike Groups (CSG) demonstrated their commitment to the security and stability of the Euro-Atlantic Area during multicarrier operations while sailing in the Ionian Sea, Nov. 23, 2022. Throughout November, five allied CSGs will operate throughout the North Atlantic Ocean and Adriatic and Mediterranean Seas.
Allies and partners gather for Combined Force Maritime Component Commander (CFMCC) Course in Naples, Italy

European leaders met at Naval Support Activity Naples to discuss regional maritime security during the week-long 2022 Combined Force Maritime Component Commander (CFMCC) Flag Course, co-hosted by the Naval War College and U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa (NAVEUR-NAVAF). The CFMCC course, facilitated by NAVEUR-NAVAF, is designed to improve the effectiveness of senior leaders who will likely work together in a multinational environment. NAVEUR-NAVAF, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests, security and stability in Europe and Africa.
