ATLANTIC OCEAN - 190502-N-TI693-0474 ATLANTIC OCEAN (May 2, 2019) - An MK 45 5-inch gun fires a round during a live fire exercise aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64), May 2, 2019. Carney, is participating in Formidable Shield 19, which improves allied interoperability in a live-fire, integrated air and missile defense environment using NATO command and control reporting structures. Nine nations are participating by contributing ships and aircraft, including Canada, Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.
