MEDITERRANEAN SEA - 190928-N-RJ834-0142 MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Sept. 28, 2019) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers USS Lassen (DDG 82) and USS Forrest Sherman (DDG 98) transit the Mediterranean Sea, Sept. 28, 2019. Lassen, homeported in Mayport, Florida, is part of the East Coast Surface Action Group (SAG) and is operating in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility as part of a scheduled deployment and will conduct routine maritime security operations, improve interoperability and engagement with allies and partners, and demonstrate the combat power flexibility of naval forces.
