Türkiye - NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY SOUDA BAY, Greece (Feb. 12, 2023) Members of the Naval Support Activity (NSA) Souda Bay Air Cargo team and Naval Air Crewmen assigned to Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 55 unload cargo from a C-130 as part of the joint U.S. military support of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief efforts, following the Feb. 6, 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Türkiye. U.S. military forces assigned to U.S. European Command and under the operational control of U.S. Naval Forces Europe, are providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in support of U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance (BHA), and the international community to the Turkish people during this tragedy. NSA Souda Bay is an operational ashore installation which enables and supports U.S., Allied, Coalition, and Partner nation forces to preserve security and stability in the European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility.
