USS Bataan (LHD 5) and USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) transited to the Eastern Mediterranean Sea

MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Aug. 4, 2023) A MH-60S Sea hawk helicopter, assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 26, transfers cargo onto the flight deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) during a replenishment-at-sea. Bataan, along with the Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) are currently on a scheduled deployment to the U.S. 5th and U.S. 6th Fleet areas of responsibility. The U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps routinely participate in scheduled deployments to improve combined combat readiness, increase operational capacity, and strengthen relationships among allies and partners throughout the region. ATLANTIC OCEAN (Aug. 30, 2018) The guided-missile destroyer USS Arleigh Burke (DDG 51) from Destroyer Squadron 28 steams alongside the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). The USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and USS Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group are participating in dual-carrier sustainment and qualification operations in the Atlantic Ocean. In addition to demonstrating the Navy's inherent flexibility and scalability, this evolution provides the opportunity to conduct complex, multi-unit training to enhance maritime interoperability and combat readiness, and prepare the Navy to protect our homeland and preserve and promote peace anywhere around the world.
