Rear Adm. P. Scott Miller

RDML P. Scott Miller is a second-generation Naval Aviator and graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He earned a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College and is a graduate of the Navy Nuclear Training pipeline in Charleston SC, Ballston Spa, NY, and Washington DC. After earning his wings, he completed F/A-18C Fleet Replacement Squadron training with Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 106 at Cecil Field, FL.
Miller’s sea tours include Command of America’s Favorite Carrier USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70) from Jan 2021 to Aug 2023 in San Diego, CA; Command of USS New Orleans (LPD 18) from 2019 to 2020 in San Diego, CA and Sasebo, Japan; Executive Officer of USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) from 2016 to 2018 in Bremerton, WA; Commanding Officer and Executive Officer of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 192 from 2009 to 2012 in Atsugi, Japan and Lemoore, CA; Department Head in Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 87 from 2006 to 2008 in Oceana, VA; Junior Officer in with Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 34 from 1998 to 2001 at Cecil Field, FL and Oceana, VA.
Ashore assignments include OPNAV N98 Aircraft Carrier Requirements Branch Head from 2023 to 2024; the author of the Secretary of Defense’s Global Force Management Implementation Guidance, Joint Staff J-8 from 2012 to 2014; as flag lieutenant, Commander, U.S. Fifth Fleet/U.S. Naval Forces Central Command from 2003 to 2005 in Manama Bahrain; and duty as instructor pilot and landing signals officer, Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 106 from 2001 to 2003 at NAS Oceana.
RDML Miller is currently serving as Deputy Commander, U.S. SIXTH Fleet in Naples Italy.
