POZZUOLI, Italy –
The military community in Naples organizes successful programs built to ease the transition for all our service members, but they are only successful because of the caliber of volunteers working behind the scenes.
Being assigned overseas can be an exciting time, as well as a daunting experience for a family. This move is more than relocating to a new office; their way of life changes and typically requires learning a new language, adapting to different set of cultural norms, and integrating into a new environment -- all while trying to create a sense of normalcy.
Day-in and day-out our volunteer organizations and community businesses engage with the service members and their families ensuring they have the support they need. Simply put, the success of our service members in meeting the mission is largely due to the hard work of volunteers.
To celebrate the devotion of the various volunteer organizations that support our military community – both U.S. and NATO organizations -- and the unwavering support from the community leaders/dignitaries throughout the Naples area, Commander, Allied Joint Force Command Naples, U.S. Naval Forces Europe & Africa is hosting a Thanks-for-Giving concert featuring the U.S. Naval Forces Europe Band.
“We cannot thank our volunteers and community leaders enough for what they do for us every day,” said Adm. James G. Foggo III, commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa (CNE-CNA) and commander, Allied Joint Force Command Naples, Italy. “Our band plays for audiences all around the world and I hope our local volunteers will join me for the “Thanks-for-Giving” concert.”
The concert is open to our area volunteers and will be held at the Italian Air Force Academy auditorium in Pozzuoli.
