ROTA, Spain –
The Europe and Africa Senior Enlisted Leadership Symposium hosting 41 senior leaders from 22 countries across Europe and Africa, kicked off onboard Naval Station Rota, July 11-13, 2023.
This year's symposium theme, "Building relationships today for a peaceful tomorrow: Cultivating Trust, Confidence, and Respect within our Teams," highlights the senior enlisted leaders’ pivotal role in forging strong relationships for a harmonious future.
"When you think about building trust and confidence, how do you do that?” asked Command Sgt. Maj. Robert V. Abernethy, U.S. Army Senior Enlisted Leader for United States European Command. “It starts with understanding each other and building relationships. Then displaying competence in your job leads to confidence within your team, which inherently leads to natural trust."
During the symposium, distinguished speakers and experts will engage participants in thought-provoking discussions and interactive sessions, focusing on strategies to cultivate trust, instill confidence, and foster respect within teams. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the tangible benefits of these values, both in operational effectiveness and the overall well-being of personnel.
EASELS 2023 aspires to inspire attendees to prioritize trust, confidence, and respect within their teams. By fostering these core values, senior enlisted leaders can help create a more unified and harmonious society, laying the foundation for a peaceful tomorrow.
